8.6. Removal and RKPP installation of 4-cylinder engines

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Tire out the car on the elevator and cover wings with protective covers.
  2. Remove a decorative front grille (see the Head Kuzov), the top cover of the inlet pipeline and the battery together with the pallet.
  3. Include the 4th transfer and record RKPP in this situation then give a collar of fastening of a rod of the drive of gear shifting to draft (see the Section Removal and installation of a casing of the lever of gear shifting).
  4. Raise a gear shifting lever cover. Include the 3rd transfer that the rod left draft, and establish a stopper in a lever casing (see the Section Removal and installation of a casing of the lever of gear shifting).
  1. Remove a clip from the executive cylinder, disconnect the giving hose from the cylinder and establish a clip into place.
  1. Separate the socket (14) of an electrical wiring of D/V of lamps of a backing, turn out 3 top bolts of fastening of RKPP (15) and establish on their place the directing hairpins (16).
  1. Separate the electrical wiring socket(s) a lambda probe(s).
  1. Disconnect (18) draft of the drive of gear shifting from RKPP, give a nut (19) of a back support of the power unit and 3 bolts (20) of fastening of a pillow of this support.

Completely do not turn out bolts.

  1. Hang out the power unit on the beam established on wings.
  2. Lift the car, remove forward wheels and the lower protection covers of a motive compartment.
  3. Remove forward section of an exhaust pipe (see the Section Adjustment, removal and installation of the drive of gear shifting and the lock of ignition).
  1. Remove a rack between the engine and its support.
  1. Remove a rack between the engine and its back support then remove a back support with a pillow.

Draft of gear shifting is removed together with a support.


  1. Turn out a bolt (28) of fastening of a forward support of the engine to a stretcher and bolts (29) of fastening of the steering mechanism.
  1. Remove collars (30) of fastening of the giving GUR lines to a stretcher, remove from it the case of the air cleaner (31), release from plastic holders on a stretcher of the K/V line and separate (33) from the intercooler an engine cooling system radiator.
  1. On both sides of the car give bolts of fastening of spherical support of a suspension bracket (35) to rotary fists and bolts of racks of the stabilizer of a suspension bracket (36).
  1. Turn out the lower bolts (37) and remove a protective plate behind a flywheel.

On B235R engines turn out bolts of fastening of the pallet of a case of the engine to RKPP.

  1. Turn out 4 bolts of fastening of a back basic plate and 2 bolts on a stretcher (38). Then install the special stand under a stretcher and give the remained 4 bolts (40) of fastening of a stretcher.
  2. Lower a stretcher and take it aside. At the same time remove 2 forward support of the giving GUR line.
  3. Suspend the oil cooler so that it did not prevent work.
  4. Empty RKPP, disconnect the right power shaft and suspend it on a plait.
  5. Disconnect both wires of weight from RKPP and lower the car.
  1. Turn out bolts and nuts (46) of the left pillow of the engine and remove it.
  1. Lower the power unit so that RKPP was exempted from a structural element.
  2. Remove its support (48) from RKPP and lift the car.
  1. Fix special adaptation on a jack, level its center with the RKPP center and with its interfaced surface.
  1. Turn out 2 remained bolts of fastening of RKPP to the engine, separate them and remove RKPP from special adaptation.

Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Grease a vent of a main shaft.
  2. If the main cylinder was replaced, or in it for any reason there is no brake fluid, the cylinder should be pumped over (see the Head the Brake system).
  3. Replace epiploons of power shafts (see the Section Replacement of Epiploons of Power Shafts).
  4. Lift the car and make sure that the directing pins of RKPP are on places. Grease them with anticorrosive lubricant.
  5. Further installation is made upside-down.
