4.6.3. Check of valvate gaps


  1. Poddomkratte the car also remove the lower protection cover of a motive compartment.
  2. Lower the car on the earth and remove from a turbocompressor the inlet pipeline together with the MAF sensor.
  3. Remove the top cover of the engine.
  4. Disconnect a delivery tube of a turbocompressor from the inlet pipeline.
  1. Remove the top section of the inlet pipeline (5 on an illustration).
  1. Separate sockets of nozzles, the sensor of temperature of OZh, the sensor of pressure of the forced air, the CMP sensor, the vacuum chamber of a turbocompressor and the EGR valve. Remove cable channels from beds of camshafts (6 on an illustration).
  2. Disconnect the electrical wiring fixed on the giving fuel tubes and returnable fuel lines (7 on an illustration).
  3. Remove fuel tubes of injectors (see an illustration).
  1. Give fixture of fuel returnable tubes of the back block of cylinders and their support from a bed of camshafts and the fuel distributive highway. Take tubes aside.
  1. Uncover heads of cylinders.
  1. Install the piston of the first cylinder in the provision of VMT for what combine a tag on a pulley of a bent shaft with a tag on a GRM drive cover.
  1. Make sure that all valves of the cylinder No. 1 are not loaded with camshaft cams.
  1. By means of the measuring probe measure valvate gaps at first of all valves of the cylinder No. 1, then final valves of cylinders No. 2 and No. 3 and inlet valves of cylinders No. 5 and No. 6. Write down the measured sizes.

The arrangement of valves is specified illustrations.

  1. Turn a bent shaft clockwise on one turn (that tags coincided again) and make sure that all valves of the cylinder No. 4 are not loaded with camshaft cams.
  2. Measure valvate gaps, since inlet valves of cylinders No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4, and then final valves No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6. Write down the measured sizes.
  3. Compare the measured sizes to requirements of Specifications.



  1. In need of adjustment of a gap any of valves remove from it a nozzle and the returnable fuel line (see an illustration).
  2. Turn a bent shaft so that the cams corresponding to the adjustable valve were turned up.
  3. Turn a pusher the screw-driver so that its groove was available.
  4. Unload a valve pusher by means of special adaptation. Make sure that adaptation does not press on an adjusting washer.
  5. Take an adjusting washer and replace it other, more suitable thickness. For calculation of thickness of the established washer add the size of a valvate gap to thickness of an old washer and subtract the size of the required gap.

Establish a new washer by tags down.

  1. After installation of a new adjusting plate measure the adjusted valvate gap again.
  2. Install the being removed components in the sequence, the return to an order of dismantle of components. Use new laying of nozzles and covers of heads of cylinders. The being removed giving fuel tubes should be replaced also.
  3. In conclusion pump over a power supply system.
