5.1.2. Removal and installation of the water pump

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Open a cover of a broad tank and dump pressure in the cooling system.
  2. Poddomkratte the car also remove the lower protection cover of a motive compartment.

4-cylinder petrol engines

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Lower cooling liquid and lower the car on the earth.
  1. Separate the MAF sensor socket (6 on an illustration), disconnect an air hose (7) and the MAF sensor.
  1. Weaken a tension of a belt of the drive of auxiliary units and remove it from pulleys of the pump GUR and water pump.
  1. Disconnect from an inlet pipe of a turbocompressor a tube of ventilation of a case (10 on an illustration) and uncover a head of cylinders.
  1. Separate the socket of the valve of management of pressure of the forced air (11 on an illustration).
  2. Remove a lifting eye of the engine (12 on an illustration).
  3. Give fixture of hoses to the output valve of a turbocompressor (13 on an illustration) and pick up the perepuskny phone together with its valve (14).

On a joint of a perepuskny tube with an entrance tube of a turbocompressor the sealing ring is used.


  1. Give a nut and 2 clamps and remove the thermofilter of a final collector (15 on an illustration).
  1. Weaken quick disconnect connection of a ventilating tube (16 on an illustration), pick up the giving phone of a turbocompressor (17) giving a tube (18) and a zakuporta inlet port of a turbocompressor.
  1. Give fixture of the pump GUR and shift the pump aside (20 and 21 on an illustration).
  1. Release collars and remove hoses from inlet port of the water pump (22 on an illustration).
  2. Disconnect two longitudinal tubes from the block of cylinders (23 on an illustration) and from the water pump (24).
  3. Give a bolt of fastening of a water tube from the water pump to a turbocompressor (25 on an illustration).
  4. Disconnect a water tube from the water pump (26 on an illustration).
  1. Turn out bolts of fastening of the water pump (27 on an illustration) and accurately remove it, separating from an arm and from the connecting coupling (29).
  1. Remove the connecting coupling from the block of cylinders and check a condition of its epiploons, if necessary replace epiploons.
  2. Installation is made upside-down. Use a new sealing ring of connection of an arm of a perepuskny tube with the giving turbocompressor tube.
  3. After installation switch off the air conditioning system and fill the cooling system. Start the engine and let's it work on various turns before turning on of the fan of a radiator.
  4. Switch off the engine and if necessary add OZh. Check the cooling system for existence of leaks.

Petrol V6 engines

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Lower cooling liquid and lower the car on the earth.
  2. Unload the right support of the power unit, having slightly raised the engine.
  1. Remove the MAF sensor and a hose (7 on an illustration). Remove GUR hose from an arm (8).
  1. Remove the right support of the engine together with an arm (9 on an illustration).
  2. Turn out bolts of fastening of pulleys of the pump GUR and water pump. Weaken a tension of a belt of the drive of auxiliary units, remove pulleys of the pumps mentioned above, a natyazhitel of a belt and a GRM drive belt cover (see illustrations in the Section Repair of 6-cylinder Petrol Engines).
  1. Remove the water pump.
  1. Installation is made upside-down. Before installation of the pump clear the interfaced surfaces. Use a new sealing ring of the pump.

Diesel V6 engines

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Weaken a tension of a belt of the drive of auxiliary units and remove it together with a natyazhitel (see the Section Repair of 6-cylinder Diesel Engines).
  2. Lower cooling liquid from a radiator.
  3. Turn out a forward bolt of fastening of a forward support of the power unit and a bolt of fastening of a guide of the probe of level of motive oil.
  4. Lower the car on the earth and disconnect from a turbocompressor an inlet tube together with the MAF sensor.
  5. Remove the top cover of the engine and disconnect the top hose of a radiator.
  6. Separate sockets of fans of a radiator, turn out the top bolt of fastening of a lifting eye and remove from it a guide of the probe of level of motive oil.
  7. Shift an eye aside and remove a casing of fans.
  8. Give the central nut of fastening of a back support of the engine.
  1. Weaken quick disconnect connections of fuel lines and wipe the flowed-out fuel (14 on an illustration).
  1. Unload the right support of the engine and remove it together with an arm and a pillow. Raise the engine and turn out bolts of its fastening. Remove the lower arm of the engine (15 on an illustration).
  2. Uncover a GRM drive belt.
  3. Install the piston of the first cylinder in the provision of VMT and shoot a belt of the GRM drive and its intermediate video.
  4. Turn out a stopper over assembly of TNVD, screw M6 bolt on its place, give fixture of a cogwheel of TNVD and remove a cogwheel.
  5. Remove a pulley of a bent shaft and intermediate pulleys. Separate the CKP sensor socket. Uncover a GRM drive belt, take from it epiploons and clear the interfaced surfaces of the laying remains.
  6. Remove a rotor of the CKP sensor and two gear wheels of the TNVD drive.
  1. Remove the water pump.
  1. Install the water pump with new laying. Make sure that two long bolts of fastening of the pump are established in the corresponding openings.
  2. Further installation is made in the return sequence. If necessary address materials of the Section Repair of 6-cylinder Diesel Engines.
